That's a wrap! We've now shipped rewards to 99% of the backers who have completed their backer surveys. Most of those shipments should have arrived on your doorsteps last week, but a few may still be in transit.

We are also waiting on a few original Tanzanian sculptures to include in a handful of rewards. If you are still waiting on your reward and ordered one of these items, we should have the art in stock and ready to ship by the end of this week!

Otherwise, if you still have yet to receive a package, please double check to make sure you have completed the survey emailed to you by Backerkit. This is how we collect shipping addresses.

We're already half-way done with fulfillment! The first batch of orders is being processed at USPS as we speak and should be arriving on doorsteps in the next few days. We'll keep you all updated as we send out more orders next week.

All Meals and Smoothies Are Packed!

We've packed all of our meals and smoothies and are right on track to get every order sent out by or before our original shipping date of September.

The cans look pretty great in their birthday suits, but a bit more modesty may be in order. This week, we'll be hand-labeling every can with a sleek, fully-recycleable label. We're also ordering the last supplies needed to get our first box shipped as early as next week.

August is for Pasta Packing!

Great news! Last Friday, we received our last remaining shipment of ingredients. That means that this week we can start taking those big bags of dried sweet potatoes, tomatoes, apples, and strawberries and transforming them into delicious meals and smoothies just for you. We'll keep you updated as we start filling cans with pasta and produce!

Wait ... cans of pasta?

Yes, We Can(ned)!

So remember how our Kickstarter introduced the new canned 2050 Smoothie? Well, it turns out those cans worked even better than expected. So when it came to packaging our pasta, we decided to think outside the box (pun intended). That's right, our pasta is coming in a can!

Besides the fact that it's just cool, there are a few other significant ways the can beats the box:

•  Freshness: We use high quality dehydrated ingredients with zero preservatives. Our produce can stay fresh for over a year, but only if it stays sealed off from moisture and oxygen. An aluminum can provides a much better moisture and oxygen barrier than a cardboard box.
•  Sustainability: Pasta boxes are recycleable. Seasoning pouches are not. We really wanted our packaging to be completely recyclable. That means no single-serving pouches hidden inside a recyclable box. When you pop open a can of 2050 Pasta, you'll see that the noodles are already premixed with the seaoning, veggies, and  protein. The can keeps this whole tasty mixture fresh until you're ready to cook it!
•  Quicker Prep Time: Put down that colander - you won't need it! Just get some water boiling, empty the entire can into the pot, and simmer until all of the water evaporates. This process takes less time than typical boxed mac-and-cheese and leaves you with a thick and savory sauce that soaks right into the noodles and veggies. The best part is, you only need to wash one dish! (Check out our latest Instagram post to see how it's done!)

Perfect for the Trails 🏔

Last week we did some serious field testing. I returned to Mt. Rainier with my mom to complete a 4-Day section of the Wonderland Trail. After a long day of hiking, we boiled some water and prepared some tasty pesto pasta on our camp stove. In less than 10 minutes we served up a gourmet meal on top of a mountain!
